Questions

Beach cleanup FAQ

Still wondering what to bring, if kids can help, or what happens if it rains? Start here—or just fill out the form and reply to your confirmation email with any questions.

Do I need to bring anything?

We provide gloves, grabbers, buckets or bags, and hand sanitizer. We recommend you bring: closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and a hat or layers depending on the weather. If you have your own work or gardening gloves you like, you’re welcome to bring them.

Can kids and families volunteer?

Yes! Beach cleanups are family-friendly and a great way for kids to learn about ocean health. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and we’ll point out safer zones farther from the water for younger volunteers.

What if the weather is bad or it rains?

For light drizzle, we’ll typically still host the cleanup—just dress for the weather. For heavy rain, unsafe conditions, or air quality concerns, we’ll send an email and/or text update using the contact information you share in the form, and we’ll post the update on our social channels.

Can I get credit for community service hours?

Yes. After each cleanup, a coordinator can sign your community service or volunteer hour forms. If your school or organization has specific requirements, mention that in the signup form notes so we can be prepared.

How do I bring a group or company team?

In the volunteer form, let us know roughly how many people you expect and that you’re signing up a group. We’ll follow up by email with suggested dates, what to share with your team, and any custom check-in or waiver needs.
